Spreads. Thursday's match-up between West Virginia and
Maryland appears to be very exciting. The Mountaineers
were in a dog fight with Marshall last week, falling
behind 13-6 at halftime. We figured the Thundering Herd
could not hold Steve Slaton and Pat White down for long.
The Mountaineers exploded for 42 second half points and
still managed to cover their 23.5-point spread in a
48-23 bashing. This offense can put up points as fast as
any team in the land. Every time White and Slaton touch
the ball have the ability to take it to the house. West
Virginia just seems to have too many lapses where they
don't score. Their defense is also vulnerable against
the pass. Maryland will get their fair share of points.
But will they be able to contain Slaton and White? No
team has so far.
The biggest game in the SEC so far
features Florida and Tennesse with a battle in the
Swamp. The Gators are 8-point favorites at home and with
good reason. Florida is the defending National Champion
and until they receive their first loss they should be
the favorite everywhere they go. Can QB Erik Ainge and
Tennessee get their biggest win in years by knocking off
the champs this weekend? They could get some help since
fifth-ranked Florida could be without WR Andre Caldwell
and RB Brandon James. These are the two top playmakers
on a very good offense. Make sure to wait on these
injuries before making a wager on the Florida-Tennessee
odds. A big factor that people might be overlooking in
this game is the kicker for Tennessee. Britton Colquitt
did not play last week against Southern Miss for the
Vols. Head coach Philip Fulmer says Colquitt should be
ready to go Saturday. But how effective can he be with a
leg injury? John Martin went 8-3 last weekend on all
picks Saturday and Sunday! He looks to repeat that
performance with approximately 12 more picks coming
soon. Sign up now for a weekly package for just $59.99
